A. Cherine Anderson is both my birth name and my stage name.
Q. As a young and talented actress and songwriter who grew up in Kingston, Jamaica. What are some of the things that you would try to fix if you were given a second chance?
A. I’m simply an entertainer, so I’ll just try to entertain people to the best of my abilities. But, things that I’d love to see for my fellow Jamaicans are great education opportunities; free through the college level, with superior extracurricular activities including sports, music and drama. The long awaited release of Jah cure that many have hoped and prayed for finally came to reality this past July. Born Siccature Alcock, Jah Cure was released on parole from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Center after being incarcerated for the past eight years out of a fifteen year sentence on rape and gun robbery charges. According to BigUpRadio.com, “in November of 1998 while driving around Montego Bay with some friends, police pulled Cure over in front of Jimmy Buffet’s club Margaritaville. When I was growing up there was a lot of woman around me that was being abused by their spouse and people just saw it as nothing .I have seen people that have been seriously injured are killed because of domestic abuse and nothing came out of it, because its ok to hit thats what most of us have been taught,its a cycle that hard to break and until we educate ourselves and realize the effect it has on our lives the cycle will continue .
