It’s almost the time of the month when many of us are thinking of creative ways to let that special someone know how much you love and appreciate them this coming Valentines Day. Despite the countless amount of stores that tries to make it much easier for us to find that one special gift – some will still endure the pain staking task of purchasing a gift that best represents how they really feel about that special someone in their life.
Valentines Day is not only be time set aside each year to buy gift (s). It is also a time when the mere thought of it ignites a twinkle in your eyes whenever you reminisce about the joy you felt last year. However, the problem that some of us face each year is finding a relatively inexpensive gift that will have a lasting impression.
I’ve taken the liberty of putting together a list of ideas that may be of some assistance to you in doing something special for your wife, husband, boyfriend or girlfriend on Valentines Day without putting yourself in debt.
Take your valentine out for Dinner
I’m sure you came across a few restaurant ads in your local news papers, magazines or during your little walks in town that is offering specials on Valentines Day. Those deals typically have a very attractive discount rate and shouldn’t cost you a week’s paycheck. So don’t listen to your friend Raymond from Lonely Barber Shop that it’s considered cheap to treat your partner to some tasty Jamaican food at a discounted price. Its time and money well spent and I’m sure your partner will appreciate your efforts to make her feel extra special on Valentines Day.
A Quiet Night on the Beach
Not only is it a very inexpensive way to treat your partner, it is without question very romantic and could be looked at as time well spent basking in the purity of the love you have for each other.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to take with you a nice bottle of wine to cuddle with him or her and watch the ever so beautiful reflection of light on top of the water. This would also be the perfect time to let your inner Poet shine. Pre-write a poem and read it to your partner.
Take your Partner to the Movies
I’m sure that they are quite a number of great movies that will be showing in your nearest movie theatre that will be based on the theme romance. Trust me, your partner will appreciate or better yet welcome the idea of watching a romantic movie on Valentines Day with the one she loves, you.
Cook Dinner for your Valentine
I believe that it’s safe to say that everyone loves good food. Me personally – I LUV IT (chicken wings – don’t laugh). Try to cook a nice meal and quietly enjoy it around a candle lighted table with the ever so sweet sound of a Boyz 2 Men CD(I would recommend the track title: “Color of love”.) playing in the background.
Bonus One
Is there a “rule” you must follow when planning something romantic for your valentine on Valentines Day? I think not, so why put your gift in the category of “typical” when you can be creative on Valentines Day in the comfort of your house and for what, just couple of dollars. Do i hear the You Day treatment? Well, a “You Day” is basically a day you set aside each week or month give your special someone the extra special treatment.
1. As soon as your valentine comes home from work-greet him or her with a bunch of roses.
2. Make breakfast in bed for your valentine.
3. Give your valentine a nice sensual massage using a bottle of rose scented baby oil or which ever flavor you think will get your partner’s senses going in over drive.
4. Paint her fingers and toe nails.
5. Give your valentine a nice warm bubble bath. Wash and dry her. After you finish giving her a bath; take her to the bed room and give her the outfit you bought for her to put on. If she asks you why, in your sexiest voice tell her to just get dressed.
6. Feed your valentine a slice of chocolate cake or just “raw chocolate” and make sure that your valentine eats all of it. (This is not the time to watch calories)
7. Sing to your valentine. Yes I know that some of you are not really vocally gifted but at least try.
8. Read to your valentine a poem you wrote.
9. After you have finished wining and dining your valentine – take him or her to that special little place in the house and give your valentine something to smile about every time your eyes make four.
